

Financial Assistant
Jay Wooten is a native of Rocky Mount. He and his wife, Leah, a Medical Technologist at Nash General Hospital, have three children - Abigail, Isabel, and Duncan. Jay and his family attend Servant's Heart Church.

Jay is a graduate of UNC-Chapel with a BA degree in Radio, Television, & Motion Pictures, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His financial skills were developed as the result of his entrepreneurial experience as a small business owner. He served as a valuable employee of the InJoy Thrift Store as the assistant manager for five years.

Jay is also actively involved in chaplaincy ministries. He serves as a Board member and Treasurer of the Tar Roanoke Chaplaincy ministry through which he has ministered to inmates in 7 area jails since 2006. This weekly ministry is a large part of his life of sharing Christ through Bible studies, counseling, and personal evangelism. He also leads a weekly worship service at the Breckenridge Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility and Coastal Plain Hospital. He is available to serve as a revival and supply speaker for area churches.
